About MCA
Master of Computer Application, popularly MCA, is a post-graduate course. Traditionally it used to be of 3 years duration but in the New Education Policy (NEP), the duration of MCA, all over India, has been reduced to 2 Years (barring a few NITs). It is a very good move as it has saved students one full year and has brought a uniformity with B.Tech - M.Tech. combination. The course focuses on providing a modern, industry-oriented education in applied computer sciences. Studying MCA makes one skilled in designing information system for an organization, with a proficiency in developing software applications in various arenas. MCA course is now offered by hundreds of institutions all over India and is an important source of human resource for the software industry.
Admission to this course is generally done through NIMCET and CUET(PG) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). Most of the prestigious Universities/ Institutes/ Colleges in India grant admission to MCA courses on the basis of rank/marks obtained in one of these two exams. Hence it is imperative to prepare thoroughly for these two exams along with a lot of practice by appearing in Mocks simulating the actual exams.
